Calculation Formula

This calculator is an implementation of the well-known formula:

$$ \textcolor{var(--primary-color)}{\displaystyle \Large \textbf{Speed} = \frac{60}{Pace}} $$

or

$$ \textcolor{var(--primary-color)}{\displaystyle \Large \textbf{Pace} = \frac{60}{Speed}} $$

Where:

  • Speed - expressed in km/h or mph
  • Pace - expressed in min/km or min/mile

Example:

If your Pace is 5 min/km, the Speed will be 12 km/h

If your Speed is 10 km/h, the Pace will be 6 min/km

Use

  • Choose the Measurement System:
    • Metric
    • Imperial

There are two modes: Speed and Pace

Speed
  • Select the unit of measurement:
    • If you have chosen the Metric System, you can convert:
      • Speed (km/h or m/s) to Pace (time/km)

    • If you have chosen the Imperial System, you can convert:
      • Speed (mph, yd/s or ft/s) to Pace (time/mile)

  • Enter the value to convert:
    • If you know the Speed, you will get the corresponding Pace.
    Pace
  • Select the unit of measurement:
    • If you have chosen the Metric System, you can convert:
      • Pace (time/km) to Speed (km/h or m/s)

    • If you have chosen the Imperial System, you can convert:
      • Pace (time/mile) to Speed (mph, yd/s or ft/s)

  • Enter the value to convert:
    • If you know the Pace, you will get the corresponding Speed.

    Example:

    A speed of 12 km/h corresponds to a pace of 5:00 min/km.

    A pace of 8:00 min/mile corresponds to a speed of 7.5 mph.
